November is finally here, and with it comes everyone’s favorite family holiday: Thanksgiving. If you’re one of the many who will be preparing a meal for friends and family, you’ll want a game plan to create a succulent feast. Although we’re a Homosassa Toyota dealer, we’ve proudly put together a list of tasty Thanksgiving recipes that will surely make your meal a hit!

Savory Recipes for Your Thanksgiving Table

Main Course & Side Dishes

Rosemary Lemon Roasted Turkey

While the traditional slow-roasted turkey with pan-dripping gravy is a great way to celebrate Thanksgiving, this Rosemary Lemon Roasted Turkey gives your meal a flavorful twist. The rosemary and lemon offer both herby and citrusy hints that enhance this main dish. The list of ingredients is simple and prep time is minimal. Roasting time takes a few hours and you should stay close by, as the recipe calls for a temperature change and some periodic basting.

This is also a great recipe if you like to make your stuffing inside the turkey. Overall, this is an easy and uncomplicated recipe to change up an old favorite.

Slow-Cooker Green Beans

Green beans and casserole are two words typically combined at a Thanksgiving meal. This recipe keeps the beans but ditches the casserole in favor of a slow-cooker and bacon. Combined with onions and thyme, these beans take approximately twenty minutes to prep, but then you can forget about them while you prepare the rest of your menu. Pour them into your slow-cooker, cover them with some chicken stock, and let them go for the next three hours. Viola! A fun twist on your traditional veggie dish.

Honey-Glazed Spiced Carrots

Are you wanting to forgo the traditional sweet potato casserole, but still crave a sweet side dish? These Honey-Glazed Spiced Carrots can be a great substitute. This recipe is super easy to prepare and only takes thirty minutes to cook. A mixture of honey, brown sugar, butter, cinnamon, and nutmeg give you the same sweet and spicy flavors you love without the starchy potato. Just pour the mixture over your pan of carrots and bake. Garnish with chives, and you’re ready to serve.

Cinnamon-Apple Cranberry Sauce

Do you cringe at the thought of wiggly-jiggly canned cranberry sauce? Do you find standard cranberries a bit too tart? Then this Cinnamon-Apple Cranberry Sauce is for you! This recipe uses fresh cranberries mixed with another autumn favorite: apples. Combine them with brown sugar, apple cider, and a few spices, and you’ve got a sweet remake on your hands. From prep to cook time, the entire process takes only twenty minutes and gives you a tasty addition to your meal.

Dessert

No Thanksgiving dinner would be complete without dessert! And with so many scrumptious options to choose from, we couldn’t pick just one.

Salted Caramel Pecan Pie

Could any Thanksgiving meal be a meal without pie? This recipe for Salted Caramel Pecan Pie gives a nod to its traditional cousin, while also enhancing everything you love about pie. Make the caramel by boiling sugar, water, and corn syrup. When ready, add butter, cream, and sea salt, giving it that sweet and salty flavor. Once you stir in the pecans, just add it to your pie shell and bake. While preparing the caramel is a bit labor intensive, this pecan pie is mouth-wateringly worth it.

Pumpkin Pie Coffee Cake

Having Thanksgiving without pumpkin pie is like having Christmas without Santa. However, we’ve mixed things up a bit with the Pumpkin Pie Coffee Cake. This cake combines the much-loved flavors of pumpkin and pie spices with the texture of a coffee cake. Simply prepare your cake batter, pour half into the pan, then cover with pumpkin filling. Pour the remaining cake batter on top. For an amusing twist, use a knife to create a marbled pattern through the cake. Sprinkle your premade crumble topping over the entire pan and bake. Now you can have your pumpkin pie and cake too!
